Jaime Bazán – Chile
Jaime Bazán brings to Blanco Partners a distinguished career in the Chilean Foreign Service and in the private sector, where he has held a number of high profile positions, including as a founding partner of the consultancy firm, "Bazán & Dellafiori".
Jaime studied Economic Sciences at the Universidad Complutense in Madrid, Political Sciences at the Universidad de Chile and Diplomacy at the Academia Diplomatica de Chile Andres Bello. He served as a Chilean diplomat for 22 years, including in the Chilean Embassy in the US, the Chilean Mission to the United Nations and as Consul General of Chile in Puerto Rico.
After serving in the Chilean Foreign Service, Jaime was appointed Chief Executive Officer of the Chilean American Chamber of Commerce (AmCham Chile) and played an important role in the development of the strategies that led to the approval of the Free Trade Agreement between Chile and the US. After holding this office for 15 years, Jaime was appointed Executive Director of Chile Transparente, the Chilean chapter of Transparency International, a role that saw Jaime champion the development of campaigns aimed at preventing corruption in the country.
Jaime is currently a Director of Fundación Maria de la Luz (having until recently served as its President). Fundación Maria de la Luz is a non-profit organization that hosts more than 100 children at social risk in Chile.
Jaime has a detailed knowledge of the Chilean market and an outstanding network of contacts within that and other international markets. He has extensive experience in working with foreign companies operating in Chile and is well qualified to engage with government and business leaders alike.
